Karen Thompson - Professional Practice (Home Health)
Karen graduated from Victoria Hospital in London, ON, obtained a post-basic BScN from the University of Alberta, a MEd from the University of Western Ontario and her certification in Community Health Nursing in 2008. Her career has consisted of bedside nursing in acute medical and surgical areas, educating students in nursing and practical nursing programs and as a visit nurse in home health.
Currently she is a Clinical Practice Consultant at ParaMed Home Health. She is responsible for providing consultation for inquiries arising from any centre, supporting evidence-based policy and procedure development and contributes to the growth and development of quality clinical service delivery. She has been on the executive of the local RNAO chapter and is in her first year as the Professional Practice Lead – Home Health for CHNIG,
