CGNA 2011 Biennial Conference More...
Title: CGNA 2011 Biennial Conference
Start: 06-08-2011 09:00 AM
End: 06-11-2011 05:00 PM
Description:
The Canadian Gerontological Nursing Association (CGNA) and Gerontological Nursing Association of Ontario (OGNA) are excited to be hosting the 16th Biennial Scientific and Education Conference from June 8 – 11, 2011 at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Center in Mississauga, Ontario.
Founded in 1985, CGNA is a voluntary non-profit organization that represents over 2,000 leaders of nursing who work with older adults in a wide variety of settings across Canada. CGNA’s mission is to address health concerns of older Canadians and the nurses who participate with them in health care.
The Canadian population is aging. In 2005, there were 4.2 million seniors aged 65 and older in Canada. As projected by Statistics Canada, there will be 9.8 million seniors by 2036. This increase is expected to have significant impacts on the Canadian workforce and to influence the demand for health-care services.
The conference theme for the 2011 conference is “To Live is to Age…Raising the Bar for Excellence”. The conference is expected to attract over 350 participants from across Canada and North America.
