CHNIG Professional Development Bursary to attend the National Community Health Nurses of Canada Conference April 2024

Dear CHNIG Members,

We are pleased to announce that CHNIG bursaries will be offered to support members interested in attending the Community Health Nursing: Health for All Conference hosted by the Community Health Nurses of Canada (CHNC) from April 22 to 24, 2024.

 

The purpose of this funding is to support our CHNIG members (RNs and Undergraduate Nursing Students) to attend the 2024 National CHNC Conference. Funds will be allocated using a pre-determined screening tool and take into consideration supporting as many members as possible.  Successful applicants may be eligible to receive a bursary value of up to $1,500.00 for RNs and up to $1,100 for undergraduate nursing students. 

The application deadline is March 22, 2024, at 11:59 PM EST, which can be submitted to chnigrnao@gmail.com

 

Please note the following criteria must be met in order for successful recipients to receive their bursary:

  • Attend a minimum of three sessions during the conference;
  • Complete and submit your summary of learning along with your proof of registration and other qualifying expense receipts to the CHNIG Treasurer no later than May 24, 2024.

 

In order to be eligible for the bursary, the successful recipient must be:

  • A registered nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or an undergraduate nursing student, and
  • A RN member of the Community Health Nurses’ Initiatives Group (CHNIG) for a minimum of one year or an undergraduate student member who has been a CHNIG member since October 2023.

 

 

 

CHNIG Professional Development Bursary to attend the Annual RNAO and CHNIG Annual AGMs

 

CHNIG is proud to be offering two $500 bursaries to members who are planning to attend our upcoming RNAO and CHNIG AGMs from Thursday, June 20th to Saturday, June 22nd at the Hilton Hotel, Toronto.

 

The Professional Development Bursary was established by the Community Health Nurses’ Initiatives Group (CHNIG) of the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) in recognition of the need to support CHNIG members in their interest and participation in the annual RNAO and CHNIG AGMs.

 

Eligible applications must include the following information:

  1. Proof for a minimum one-year membership in CHNIG.
  2. Evidence of involvement (past/present) in your professional association(s) (CHNIG, RNAO, CHNC, etc.).
  3. Please provide a paragraph outlining your professional objectives in attending the AGMs.
  4. A 500 words or less summary of strategies to share learning from the meetings with others (e.g., nursing colleagues, students, other health care professionals etc.).

CHNIG Undergraduate Nursing Student Bursary

 

  • Are you passionate and excited about community and public health nursing?
  • Are you creative and looking for ways to engage other students in the benefits of joining your professional organization?
  • Would you like additional funding to support your studies and preparations for the NCLEX?

 

Please submit applications to the CHNIG Student Committee which will include:

 

  • Completed application form
  • An original and creative promotional tool such as poster, presentation or video that discusses the importance of the CHNIG and community health nursing and engages students to join our organization.
  • Digital photograph of yourself (JPEGs or PNGs)

 

Winning applications will be selected by the CHNIG Board of Directors and the submitted promotional materials will be distributed province wide through CHNIG media and communication strategies.

 

2 Prizes of $250.00 + free 1 year membership to CHNIG
All prize money will be awarded via reimbursement for purchased NCLEX and nursing student study tools (proof of purchase may be requested).
