By the end of this seminar nurses will have an increased understanding of:

  • The values and principles of primary health care and how they relate to community and acute care nursing practice
  • The differences and similarities between primary care and primary health care
  • The key concepts of primary health care reform in Canada

PRESENTER:

Barbara Chyzzy is a clinical instructor at the University of Toronto and Humber College / University of New Brunswick Collaborative Bachelor of Nursing Program. At the University of Toronto, Barbara teaches the Primary Health Care: Nursing Perspectives course in the accessibility and urban health sections. Her Master of Nursing program from the University of Toronto focused on community health and community development.
