01 Feb Ontario Health Study
The Ontario Health Study is a landmark study of over 225,000 participants to date, created to better understand the environmental, lifestyle, and genetic causes of chronic diseases in Ontario. The discoveries that will come from this study will help bring us closer to preventing chronic diseases in future generations.
In particular, the Ontario Health Study has launched a new campaign to collect blood samples from 80,000 people across the province. The blood samples will be critical for research to measure levels of environmental pollutants in the body, identify blood proteins indicating an undiagnosed disease, and learn how our genes affect our health, among other things.
I encourage you to help the Ontario Health Study reach its blood collection target by inviting your staff, volunteers, and members to sign up for the study at www.ontariohealthstudy.ca.
